Operating within one of the thriving universities in research, the Department of Innovation and Research Projects has first started its activities in September 2013, under its former name ‘Research Projects Coordination Office’ with the aim of contributing to Altınbaş University on its path to achieve global success and reputation.
Our main objective in line with the University’s vision is to give the best support to Altınbaş University on its way to become one of the leading research universities in the world.
On this journey we began to become an efficient, entrepreneurial and innovative University in research, our primary aim is to guide our faculty members through the procedures of project calls issued by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), European Commission and other funding organisations as well as to provide the faculty members with every support they may need during the process. We also provide support and assistance to the faculty members in their applications to become a journal referee/peer reviewer and panellist as part of TÜBİTAK and H2020.
Additionally, we provide AU faculty members with every support they may need during the application process for Scientific Research Projects funded by Altınbaş University.
AU Department of Innovation and Research Projects also offers contribution through activities it carries out as part of University-Industry Cooperation, including interviews with firms, organisations, various types of cooperation, undertaking projects and scientific events/activities.
In line with the University’s patent policy (Intellectual property), we also offer support in facilitating licensing and patent applications as well the transfer of faculty-developed research results to commerce and industry.
Our Department carries out the procedures for application to Rapporteurship at the Commission for the Support to Research, Publications and Academic Activities Abroad as well as applications for publication and overseas academic activities grants & funds awarded by this Commission.
Currently providing support to 4 EU-funded projects, we also offer the necessary assistance to the faculty members in their project proposal writing and application process while we take active part in helping students develop their start-up ideas/projects and turn them into a business model.
As part of My Idea My Business Competition held in 2017, 4 students have been deemed eligible for admission to AU Incubation Centre. Becoming an annual event, My Idea My Business Competition promotes student creative thinking and entrepreneurship.
